Tree Preservation Order and Conservation Area Applications

Protected Trees

Tree Preservation Orders (TPO) are made by local planning authorities to protect trees, groups of trees or woodlands. If a tree is protected, it is unlawfull to fell, lopp, top, uproot or damage the tree.  Any work to the tree will require permission from the local authority.  An application for work to trees subject to a TPO will usually take a minimum of eight weeks to be processed by the planning authority.

Trees in Conservation areas also require an application for work to be submitted to the local planning authority, this process usually takes a minimum of six weeks.

William Wolf Tree Surgery is able advise on and submit planning applications for tree works to trees covered by TPO's and in Consevation areas.
