Tree Health and Hazard Assessment

Beech with extensive decay at base

Regular tree inspection by William Wolf Tree Surgery enables any defects and hazards to be identified, appropriate remedial action can then be recomended and undertaken.

Many trees live for years with little or no problems, however, being living organisms their status can change due to disease, climate and growth patterns, some trees can appear healthy whilst masking serious defects. If the trees are growing in a location that means there is potential for damage or injury, such as parks, gardens, footpaths, car parks or roads, it is particularly prudent to inspect trees regularly.  Hazards can be identified, risks reduced and duty of care demonstrated.

Trees and their defects can be a good source of habitat for wildlife such as bats, birds and invertebrates, as well as other organisms, in some cases they may be protected.  Good hazard evaluation not only identifies the liabilities and risks involved, but also understands the important ecological contribution to habitat many situations provide.
